Our Next NCHS Program will be on

Patt Terrelongue and Reynard Burns will present:

"The Tuskegee Airmen in World War II"
at the Jericho Public Library
1 Merry Lane, Jericho
In person or via zoom

The Tuskegee Airmen were dedicated, determined young men who enlisted in 
the U.S. Army Air Corps to become America?s first black military airmen. 
They accepted the challenge during a time when many people thought that 
Blacks were inferior to whites in intelligence, skill, courage, and 
patriotism. Of the?estimated 16,000?involved, nearly 1,000 were trained 
in Tuskegee Alabama, to be pilots of fighter?and?bomber airplanes.?The 
famed 332nd fighter group is most noted for their?distinguished?record 
escorting B-17 bombers and the distinctive Red Tails on their P-51 
fighters. The Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal in 
2007.

Reynard Burns, President of the Tri-State Chapter of the Tuskegee 
Airmen, and Patt Terrelongue, the daughter of a Tuskegee Airman, will 
tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen.

We are again partnering with the Jericho Public Library for this hybrid 
program. It will be available in-person or live on your computer. 
Register for the Zoom webinar on www.JerichoLibrary.org (under Events, 
Program Registration). Refreshments will follow the in-person program at 
the library.

Driving Directions: The Jericho Library is at 1 Merry Lane, Jericho 
11753, just south of Rt. 25 (Jericho Turnpike). From the Northern State 
Parkway, take exit 35 North or from the LIE/Rt. 495, take exit 41 North 
onto Rts. 106/107. Stay in the right-hand lane and go right onto Rt. 25. 
Go a very short distance and turn right
(south) onto Merry Lane. The Library is on your left; parking is 
available on both sides of the building.

Guests are welcome to attend, either at the library or virtually on 
Zoom. Invite your friends.
